Moments ago, a new remaster has been announced. This time it's for Blizzard Entertainment's 2002 real-time strategy WarCraft III, proving long-standing rumours true. It sports a s(l)ick new look with completely redone graphical assets, a new user interface, 4K support, all the content from both WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos and the WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne expansion pack, and support for the modernized version of Battle.net. There's a caveat, though: it will cost $29.99 in the standard edition, and $39.99 in the Spoils of War Edition that includes 4 unique hero skins and bonuses for other Blizzard titles, while currently both Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne cost $9.99 each.
They went as far as to redo the cutscenes, and have already shown the new version of the Reign of Chaos intro:
WarCraft III: Reforged will be available on Battle.net sometime in 2019.
