Legends say that you can toss your pick axe anywhere in these dark woods and mine for gold where it falls. Though these legends may not be far from the truth, you may also find that no spot remains profitable for long...
The expansion closest to each starting position is guarded by a green creep camp. Expansions are typically guarded by brown creep camps as a minimum. However, because of the number of expansions in the map, more resources are needed.; The nice thing is the extra gold in the early part of the game could help make sure there isn't a shortage later on.
The question you may be asking your self right now is: 'What mapper in their right mind would put 16 expansions in a 4 player map?' (or something along those lines...). If you are indeed asking yourself this, then I would like to adress this question first. When I came up with the idea for this map I wanted there to be a deffinite element of strategy when it came to choosing your expansions. Your options are not limmited to the 4 closest to you. With careful planning and skillful defense, a player can use a scroll of town portal to teleport virtually anywhere on the map! (very good for ambushes) You may now be asking yourself: 'Doesn't that create an imbalance in favor of the Night Elves and the Undead?' (or something along those lines...). If you are indeed asking yourself this question, then I would like to adress this issue next. To fix this problem, one creature at every expansion creep camp will drop a Tiny Great Hall (or your races equivalent), which gives every race equal oppurtunity to expand quickly. Enjoy!
