ET: Quake Wars is NOT Wolfenstein Related!!!
You heard right - I have been corresponding with John Carmack himself (the Godfather of first-person shooters; also co-owner of id Software) - the brains behind some of the best graphical engines in gaming history. He has confirmed for me that the recently announced Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, which is being developed by Splash Damage, is NOT Wolfenstein-related.
It has nothing to do with Wolf. The "Enemy Territory" name is due to Splash Damage's multiplayer design skills being the drive behind the game. There could be other ET games in the future in different settings. John Carmack
So there you have it... For all of you worried that ET: QW was going to be the death of the classic Wolfenstein, think again. ET: QW is simply a Quake title, which happens to have a title which served as a sub-title for Wolfenstein. In other words, "Enemy Territory: Quake Wars" is NOT a sequel, expansion, or anything else relating to "Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory". Rather, ET: QW is an independent title. I hope that clears things up for you all. -Jdawgg
