This is the fixed version of Darwin Award Winner's Team - Class - Gun - Spawn selection script. There was a string in one of the files that was incorrect which did not allow the script to function properly...
Darwin Award Winner's Team/Class/Gun/Spawn selection script Author: Darwin Award Winner Email: [email protected] _______________________________________________________________________________ Introduction: This script is one of many scripts for this purpose, so you may be wondering what sets this one apart. Well, this script is designed to match up to the Limbo menu as much as possible, so it is much easier to get used to. It is also set up to use button combos in order to make the more frequently used buttons more accessible. _______________________________________________________________________________ Installation: Extract the contents of the zip file into your etmain folder. If you already have an autoexec.cfg, don't overwrite it, but instead add these lines to the end: exec config/class.cfg exec config/spawnpoints.cfg bind alt "+vstr altbind unaltbind" set altbind "exec altbinds.cfg" set unaltbind "exec unaltbinds.cfg" bind ins "vstr spawnbutton1" bind home "vstr spawnbutton2" bind pgup "vstr spawnbutton3" bind del "vstr spawnbutton4" bind end "vstr spawnbutton5" bind pgdn "vstr spawnbutton6" Potential controls conflicts:This script assumes that you use the default weaponbank controls (1=knife, 2=pistol, etc). Also, it uses the alt key, which is normally assigned to display stats. I use the z key for this function instead: bind z +stats The script also uses the right and left brackets , the apostrophe, the arrow keys (not the numpad, the other arrow keys), and the six keys above the arrow keys (insert, delete, home, end, page up, page down). If you use any of these keys, change them or change them in this scrpt if you know how. _______________________________________________________________________________ Team Selection: After installing and starting up the game, join a server. Here are the controls: [ = Allies ] = Axis ' = spectator To go to spectator mode, press the apostrophe key TWICE. You must hit it twice so that you don't accidentally hit it and go to spectator. If you accidentally hit the spectator button once, just press the bracket key for your side to reset the fail-safe. _______________________________________________________________________________ Class Selection: Once you have selected your team, use the following controls to select your class: Alt+1 = Soldier Alt+2 = Medic Alt+3 = Engineer Alt+4 = Field Ops Alt+5 = Covert Ops _______________________________________________________________________________ Weapon Selection: Use these controls to select your weapon. If you want the default weapon, you do not need to select a weapon. After you have selected a weapon, the buttons will reset to class selection. Make sure you hold down alt the entire time if you are selecting both a class and a non-default weapon. If you let go of alt, it will reset it to class selection. Soldier: The panzerfaust is the default weapon. If you want any other weapon, use these keys: Alt+1 = MP40/Thompson Alt+2 = Panzerfaust Alt+3 = Flamethrower Alt+4 = MG42 Alt+5 = Mortar Medic: The MP40/Thompson is the default and only weapon. Engineer: The MP40/Thompson is the default weapon. If you want any other weapon, use these keys: Alt+1 = MP40/Thompson Alt+2 = K43/M1 Garand Alt+3 = Nothing Alt+4 = Nothing Alt+5 = Nothing Field Ops: The MP40/Thompson is the default and only weapon. Covert Ops: The K43/M1 Garand is the default weapon. If you want any other weapon, use these keys: Alt+1 = Sten Alt+2 = FG42 Alt+3 = K43/M1 Garand Alt+4 = Nothing Alt+5 = Nothing Note: This script automatically selects akimbo pistols if you have them available. I'm not sure if it will automatically switch to them when you get them, so I suggest re-selecting your class and weapon to make sure that akimbo pistols are selected. There is currently no way to select the MP40/Thompson as a secondary weapon for a soldier. I plan to add this in later versions. _______________________________________________________________________________ Spawnpoint selection: First you select a map using the arrow keys. Up arrow = Generic Spawnpoints (For custom maps) Down arrow = Switch theaters (European or African) Right arrow = Next map in theater Left arrow = Previous map in theater Once you have selected the correct map, use the following keys to select your spawnpoint: For most maps: End: Default Spawn Delete: Rear Spawn Page Down: Forward Spawn Home: Side/Alternate Spawn (These four keys make a shape like the arrow keys below them, for easy access.) As an example, The Allies on Radar have three potential Spawnpoints: the house (rear spawn), the bunker (forward spawn), and the Command Post (side spawn). The Axis have the Bunker (forward spawn), the warehouse (rear), and the side house. For Allies on Seawall Battery: End: Default Spawn Delete: East Beach Page Down: West Beach Insert: Command Post Page Up: West Bunker These are set up so that the position of the button matches the postion of the spawn when facing up the beach. Note: The Allied side spawn in Oasis is the health and ammo racks. This is not a normally selectable spawn from the limbo menu, but this script allows you to spawn there. _______________________________________________________________________________ Class-Specific binds: If you have a 4th and 5th mouse button, you can take advantage of the class-specific binds that I have included with the script. All of these binds are used in the same way, except for the instant artillery strike. While holding down alt, press and hold the appropriate button (mouse4 or 5). Once you have pressed that button, you no longer need to hold down alt, so your left thumb is now free to do other stuff. When you are done with the action you are doing, let go of the button and it will switch back to the main weapon (unless otherwise stated, e.g. dynamite). Note: You must choose your class using the script to correctly use these binds. Otherwise, it will not know what class you are and what binds to use. Soldier None (no applicable special abilities). Medic Alt+Mouse4: Hold down Mouse4 to switch to health packs and start dropping them. Let go to stop dropping and switch back to main weapon (weaponbank 3). Alt+Mouse5: Hold down Mouse5 to switch to needle and start injecting. Let go to stop and switch back to main weapon (weaponbank 3). Engineer* Alt+Mouse4: Hold down Mouse4 to switch to dynamite and prime it. Let go to drop the dynamite and switch to pliers. Alt+Mouse5: Hold down Mouse5 to switch to pliers and start using them. Let go to stop and switch back to main weapon. *I have made a bind like these for mines, but it ties in with other parts of my config in such a way that I could not include it with this script. Field Ops Alt+Mouse4: Hold down Mouse4 to switch to ammo packs and start dropping them. Let go to stop dropping and switch back to main weapon. Alt+Mouse5: Hold down to switch to Airstrike canister and throw it immidiately. Let go once it is thrown to switch back to main weapon. Alt+Mouse1: Calls an immidiate artillery strike where you are looking (assuming you can call an atrillery strike, i.e. enough power bar, sufficient fire support, and not reloading or anything that would stop the use of binoculars. Useful if you are about to die and don't have time to hit the binocular button, or if you want to have the element of suprise by not using binoculars. Covert Ops: Alt+Mouse4: Hold down Mouse4 to take out the sachel charge, drop it, and detonate. Release to switch back to main weapon. Alt+Mouse5: Hold down Mouse5 to switch to smoke grenade and prime it. Release to throw and switch back to main weapon. I suggest you go into an empty server and try these out to get a feel for how they work. They are meant to cut down on the number of keypresses required to do these actions. They can be very useful, especially the instant artillery and airstrike buttons for the Field Ops. You can easily add your own class-specific binds to the class configs, including specific binds for each heavy weapon and the engineer's rifle. _______________________________________________________________________________ Known issues: -All keyboards are different, and some will not do certain key combinations. For example, mine will not do alt+2 if I am moving forward (this would be w, alt, and 2 all at once). You may have to hold still momentarily to do certain key combinations. -See above about soldier and secondary SMG. -You must choose your class using the script to correctly use these binds. Otherwise, it will not know what class you are and what binds to use. -You must choose your team and spawnpoints using the script for the spawnpoint script to know which map and team you are on. Otherwise it will not work correctly or at all. _______________________________________________________________________________ Example: Here's an example so that you can see how this script would be used in a real game. Feel free to go through these exact steps to get a feel for the script. I join a server. I want to go Axis, so I hit ]. I then want to be a Covert Ops with a K43, so I hold down alt, press 5 and then 3, and then let go of alt. The map is Seawall Battery, so I press the down arrow until it says "Oasis Spawnpoints," meaning that it's in the African theater. I then press right once to swith to the Seawall Battery spawnpoints. I want to spawn at the rear spawn so I can sneak out the back entrance and do some sniping, so I hit the delete key. And that's about it. _______________________________________________________________________________ If you have any questions about this script or how to use it, please use the comments feature of RTCWfiles.com, and I will respond there, or email me at [email protected].
