The gold farming endemic has made Japanese authorities sit up and take notice. The country's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has opened an investigation into groups tampering with and mining virtual economies for virtual cash. We can only hope that one day in the near future we’ll all look back and laugh long and hard at how seriously we took fake money.
