Recently it seems that there has been a lot of talk about people being seriously addicted to World of Warcraft. This has shocked many people making them ask the question, can you get a addicted to a video game?
Of course you can. It's very easy to say that World of Warcraft is "just a video game" however in many respects it's a Virtual life with social circles and another way for people to interact. If you read n0e's old signature on the filefront forums it compared World of Warcraft with sexual interaction.
Thus as people can become addicted to sex as too can we become addicted to World of Warcraft. It is a fantasy online world where we make money, fight , work as a team and interact through these actions on all sort of emotional levels.
In conclusion it is not World of Warcraft that people get addicted to more the emotional highs that the game along with the interaction that the game provides. The gratitude of leveling up or making it through that dungeon with some neat items which you later sell for a lot of money.
Indeed it is addictive.
