Call To Arms (CTA) was created to help players who are having trouble getting into raids for any instances or otherwise. CTA works like a search engine, allowing players to host, find and join raids very quickly and easily like never before. CTA lets raid leaders create a profile of their raid. This profile includes a short description, the maximum size wanted, the minimum level of the players in the raid and even a password to join. Raid leaders can even set the class distribution of the raid members. Players can also use CTA to search for these raids using various search criteria. When a suitable raid is found, players can easily ask for an invitation to the raid. Even if the players do not have CTA, they can still request an invitation by sending a whisper to the raid leader. CTA will automatically invite players who meet the requirements of the raid, ie. an invitation will be sent only if the player has the correct class and level needed by the raid group. CTA operates on a single channel (CTA channel) and has several anti-spam features. Communication is efficient and lightweight - only queries are sent over the CTA channel - at a maximum rate of once per 5 seconds per user. When not in use, CTA automatically removes the player from the CTA channel, so broadcast overhead to the server is minimal. Requirements: You must have one free channel for CTA to use. This channel allows CTA to send and receive search queries to and from other players. Many players must use the addon for it to be truly effective. I especially recommend that guilds try CTA, so as more guild members use it, the more useful it becomes to the guild as a whole and all other players as well. Comments: I can understand some players being a bit let down by the lack of results when they use CTA to search for raids. Please be patient - hopefully, as CTA gains popularity, more and more raids will be found using CTA. In the meantime raid leaders can still use CTA to manage the class distribution of their raid and allow CTA to automatically invite players. Even players without CTA can ask for an invitation by whispering 'inviteme' to the raid leader who uses CTA or, if a password is required to join the raid, 'inviteme password' where 'password' is replaced by the one set by the raid leader. Slash commands: '/cta' Show a list of all available CTA commands '/cta help' Show details of each CTA command '/cta toggle' Show/hide the CTA Icon '/cta clear blacklist' Clears the list of players that CTA is ignoring because of channel spamming '/cta dissolve raid' (Raid leaders only) Totally dissolve the raid by removing all players Other notes: Please report any bugs/errors you come across while using CTA. Known issues/bugs: These issues relate to the R1 release, any changes listed here will be reflected in the R2 release: Error occurs when used with SmartChat addon. (Sadris) (investigating) Automated messages sent in common language even with horde characters. (Adrianshiva) (resolving) Unable to see /who display in Social window. (Sotakone) (resolved) Unable to use movement keys while CTA window is open. (sad_story) (resolved)
