I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

I love Resident Evil 2 Remake, I've even made a video on it here, but If there's one thing that I do kinda miss over the original, it's that trademark fixed camera angle view that made the originals so iconic, and actually more tense to play, making the remake feel like a different genre altogether at times.
There may be hope on the horizon though, as one modder has made a proof of concept that fixed camera angles could be modded into the remake. The video below shows this off, and it really feels like the old Resident Evil games, and for me, changes the whole dynamic for the better.
There's an issue though, while there's plenty impressive about these demo videos, the creator, Enveloping Sounds, has stated that to mod the entire game in this way is nothing short of a mammoth task, so we may not get a full version for the entire game, at least not from him alone.
There's also the question of gameplay issues, too, as the game was not designed with this sort of camera view in mind, so some major overhaul of controls, scripted sequences and enemy behaviour would be needed to make the game playable to a reasonable standard.
Still, where there's a will, there's a way, and it's early days for the modding scene. With enough support, and enough will power, this may come to fruition. In the mean time you can enjoy the video above, and below, to get an idea of what such a mod would be like should it ever be completed.
